At this years SEMA show we saw a couple of really cool products for the new generation Mustang. TCI has developed an aftermarket shifter and a bullet-proof version of the Ford 5R55S transmission. The Super StreetFighter transmission is capable of handling 650 horsepower through the use of upgraded clutches, bands and servos. The shifts are firmer, yet the transmission is a direct bolt in and perfectly streetable.
Match the transmission up to TCI’s new ratchet shifter for 05-08 Mustang GT’s. The all billet shifter is designed specifically for the car, eliminating the gawdy look of generic ratchet shifters. The shifter is NHRA/IHRA reverse-lockout compliant, and connects to the stock cable. It’s a great feeling shifter that is perfect for any new Mustang, whether raced or not.

The new body Mustang will be the darling of the aftermarket with it’s popularity, even themost devout Chevy guys I know like it, they just won’t admit it (denial?) and their Camaro is not yet available.
