Hello all - I plan on building a 351 stroker motor for my 66 ranchero & need to do it on a budget so my wife doesn't disown me. $3000-7000 crate motors are out. Can anyone tell me what stock parts can be used to build a stroked 351? for example, can I have a stock 351 crank cut down to increase stroke? What's the max displacement w/ a stock 351 crank? Also, I keep hearing about 400M cranks. Are these the 'turd' motor follow ons to the cleveland? Can a stock 400M crank be used to stroke a windsor motor? can it be cut to further increase the displacement. More questions to follow...I have a thousand of them but don't want to scare anyone off.
