Has anyone had any luck with Precision Gear?

Why are the Ford Motorsport 3.70 and 3.89 gears so expensive. They cost around $400 compared to Richmond's $189. Any good reason on why 3.73's could not be installed in a '70 Mustang? Ford Motorsports 9" 3.73's cost about half of what the 3.70's and 3.89's do.
