The later 'one piece rear main seal' blocks were not tapped for the clutch pivot ball.

The 260 timing cover (which uses the early aluminum water pump) can be bolted to the later block. I've seen the later cast iron pumps used with these covers, but for best results and fit, use the old aluminum one.
