Maybe a paste of baking soda and water and let it sit? There has to be some trick that is used even on cookware that might work. I just don't see the baking soda thing working when it would have to stay wet unless you wrap a wet rag around it to keep it wet. Not sure if that really works either, it was just one of those helpful hint type things for burnt stuff in pots and pans.
