64 disc brake swap brake lines

I just compleated the conversion on my 64 4d sedan. things that i run into were all fairly simple. things like being carefull with your dust boot covers on your tie rods and ball joints. check your tie rods and ball joints carefully and replace them if they are worn at all. i was lucky, the ball joints had been replaced before i bought my car. also replace your brake master cylinder if you can, it's a cheap part and a good investment.

by far the brakeline was the most difficult, but not impossible. i ran all new brake line for the front brakes. i found it eaiser to buy a kit from jegs or summitt with bulk brake line. you will also need a double flair kit. you may have to reuse some of your fittings. i could not find the appropriate fittings new, so i reused the fittings from my doner car, a 77 tbird. be carefull when you double flair the fittings as the steel brake line has a tendency to split. i was also told by a local shop that you can heat the line slightly with a propane torch and it makes it eaiser. i had no problems so there was no need to heat the line. i'm not happy with the way the passanger side routing came out and will be changing it. be carefull when you run your lines as to stay away from any moving suspension parts or pinch points. take your time and think about the routing. i ran my passanger side brake line under the motor using the original route and then over the fender well. did not come out as well as i had hoped. mostly just looks ugly, no function problems.
