Visited a Master Interior Craftsman the Other Day

His name is Mike Ambrose who lives up in the Valley north of L.A. He does absolutely top quality interior upholstery work for the best show cars. He's done cars for people like Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld and others for whom money is no option. And boy does his results show it.

I just marvel at guys who can do this kind of work. There was a '50-something Dodge Coronet parked outside which was easily a $100K car which he had just completed the interior on, including custom console, etc., etc. Some filthy rich guy had the car shipped from Nevada just for him to do the interior. He had a flamed '50s Chevy truck, a four door Bel Air with a full Corvette suspension and drivetrain underneath, a black '32 highboy ready for red leather. Absolutely drool on stuff. He works out of his home with one assistant and he just seems like the happiest guy in the world. Making a great living doing what he loves. Wow. Just thought I'd share.

Now do I want to spend that kind of money on my little, simple Falcon? Probably not. But I learned a lot.
