Tradford,
I know they make pistons now without the oil ring issue. That I'm sure is one of the two downfalls. The other being rod angle. What's your opinion on the rod angle issue? My 427 will be a "Weekend Warrior", so, mine should last a few years. That much power in a little Cobra has got to be a thrill ride!
