Tim,
We used to have a flatbed car hauler truck back in the '70s and supported our racing habit by hauling cars to the crusher for about $30 a ton. I won't EVEN mention how many Starliners, Sunliners plain Galaxies, Mustangs, Fairlanes, Comets, Thunderbirds, etc, etc. that met their fate by getting scrunched back then... But at the time, all they were were 10-20 year old beaters we bought for 15 bux at the most apiece.
I dunno.... I know some of the younger guys/gals won't agree, but the 'Old Cars in Barns' site nor cars sitting in fields that I can't buy don't bother me a bit. Everybody has a right to do as they will with their personal property, so who am I to bitch that they're not doing what I wish they were? It just makes me prouder of the few I've been able to save. I even let a decent '65 Mustang coupedeteriorate outside for about 15 years myself. I saved it for my daughter and me to fix up, but finances, time and other stuff got in the way. I finally didn't have a place to store her and sold the 'Stang as a parts car to a restorer. Wish I'd not let it happen, but.....
