alternator and ignition upgrade questions

hello all.. working on my 63 1/2 500XL. originally a 352 car with a 3 speed on the tree... now a 429/c6 car and i have several questions about alternator and ignition upgrades.

I am using the first wiring diagram at this link http://www.galaxieclub.com/alternator-conversion.html

on this diagram it shows connecting the 2 wires from your thru firewall connection in to the system.

Im useing a factory ford alternator and voltage reg for the 429 it has in it...

CAN YOU splice int the factory harness and eliminate the wires for the generator and the regulator and its wiring all together???? or must you connect the wires in the factory harness to keep the circuit open/closed??

2nd i am using a duraspark II ignition easy to install and hooks up easy(i think)....

http://home.cfl.rr.com/fatrichard/duraspark/eec.htm is the site for info on the duraspark im useing.

it is a box with the blue tab and its electronic distibutor. Has coil and distributor on one plug set and 2 wires on 2nd plug set for hook up to the keyed ignition, but which way is easiest to connect these 2 wires into the system???

from what i read in a chiltons on the ignition (outta my 80's bronco book) the wiring is easy hook up a hot wire and these 2 switched/keyed wires and thats it..

hope you can help me i wanna hear what this beast will sound like with them big cubes and mad dog headers....

thanks much
