comp 140 fuel leak ?

If you are running a return line with the comp 140, the manufacturer states that you must remove the spring in the bypass assembly and replace the spring with the included brass plug. The brass plug is placed into the pump itself. Then, screw in the allen head plug with pipe thread compound instead of teflon tape. It's all in the pump itself. I have no leaks in my lines whatsoever. (Thankfully) I guess the reasoning is that the teflon tape will clog the gerator pump and break it. I cant understand why Mallory would recommend pipe thread sealant if it does not seal. Thanks,
MIKE
