'64 Galaxies came with two rear end housings...one to accomodate the large axle bearings and one the smaller. Which had what varied on what motor the car came with. I'm certain that 390-up (maybe the 352-up?) cars came with the large axle bearing housings. The 8 3/4" center section Deb mentioned is simply a 9" with a smaller ring gear. If your present axles are of the small outer bearing variety, Deb's should work just fine. Both are 28 spliners also.
