Since the \"draft\" post has no easy answer, perhaps this question will be easier....

Try an Owl, Hawk statue either on the roof or in a visible place near the area being attacked. Birds hate, dispise and fear birds of prey. You may have to replace it a few times, they will attack it, but after a while they may just go toa neighbors house instead of looking for dinner at yours.

One other thought. Most birds don't work for free. If the Woodpecker is attacking your house, you may want to have it looked over, for bugs like termites and what have you. Since woodpeckers eat bugs, grubs and worms...you have to think, he has got to be getting something out of beating up on your house?

Then again, he may just like the sound. Seriously, try a bird scarecrow.
