Dale Waltrip will tell you, and he brags about it, that he and Richard Petty were the best at getting away with breaking the rules. He once used a two inch fuel line that held several gallons of fuel. He would load up his chassis with lead shot to make weight at the beginning of a race and dump it after the start, sometimes intentionally causing a yellow flag. Richard Petty won the championship one year with an illegal engine. They didn't take it away. Dale Earnhart won by running people in the wall and spinning them out. He got away with a lot that others couldn't. Fans, my friends, Fans.

There are 23 Chevys , 17 Dodge , and only 11 Fords competing in the Nextel cup. To me it means a lot more when a Ford wins.
