FM just picked up a 1989 F-150 5.0L...
Ditch the hupcaps for sure. Any set of wheels will look better than those.
Upgrade the front end to the newer style. Its a fairly easy swap, and I just happen to have all the parts ya need, minus 1 fender. The 87-91 front end just never looked right IMHO.
A four wheel drive conversion is truly and 100% honestly a bolt on procedure. If ya want more details, just ask.
I'd probably leave the engine alone, with minor mods to aid in mileage more than power. Unless of course you go 4x4, where I would suggest at minimum a 351 (or a built up 300 if your really feeling adventurous)
Id leave the tranny alone untill it gives up the ghost (or you go 4x4, which will necessitate a tranny swap) I prefer a manual tranny, but a well built auto would probably be preferable for a shop truck.
