Who\'s done A arms on a 62?

What's the deal. I had the bushings pressed on only to find out the front A arm bolt in the frame had a pressed on washer of some type that I spent hours trying to get off so the arm would slide in place. The angle of the A arm was to much to allow it to go on so I drove out the front bushing again put the arm on then played with the front bushing nut to suck the bushing back into place. It was hot, I was tired would have paid plenty for the Ford engineer to explain why I was in this much stress!!! Maybe Ford changed the front set up in 63/64 for this reason?
