Although the cam is on the small size, it will run just fine. Maybe upgrade when you can. But to answer your real question: Yes, I used the Moroso front sump, street strip pan on my 70 mach with the 408. The pan cleared the rotating assembly. but if I remember right, I had to dent the inside down to clear the oil pump. Not the pan itself. There is a piece of metal welded inside the pan that helps control the oil, so the oil doesn't slosh back out on acceleration. Doesn't hurt to modify that a bit so it fits. If I remember also, I had to take the small engine crossmember out and dent that a bit also. The biggest problem I had with it was, I had to order like 4 of them from Summit cause every one was bent so bad that it wouldn't even go on the motor! If I were to do it again, I think I would try a Canton or something else.
