Re: a performance 3.0 ?
The whipple will not fit under the hood of a Taurus and they don't offer it for sale any more. I have a few ported intake manifolds with new flanges/inlets that use 60-70mm+ Mustang style throttle bodies. A full upper lower combo with everything you can do to it. Ported, polished, 3/4" removed from runners, 3/8" phenolic spacer, and a 60mm tb. There are tuning options from SCTuner.net and Nitrous kits from all the regulars. Just be sure to hire a good tuner for both, the nitrous kits are a close tune at best in left field at worst. SPEND THE MONEY and go wet. I was running 50#/hr injectors back when they said it wasn't possible, and a 125hp shot of nitrous back when 200hp was the max you could make on your motor; 201 would destroy your 3.0. This was also about the time, I was making 225 at the wheels. I was building cylinder heads and specking out cams almost 10 years ago. My Taurus was running 12's back then. So yeah, I have been around the block. The community is jaded and full of CAI's and exhaust mods with very few serious performance enthusiasts. Good luck in your quest, and I hope everything goes well.
