Trying to get this beast together before this summer. My friend and I just finished bending and welding the cage in over the last month or so. I will be painting the cage this weekend. (Hammered Rustoleum in a pint can)
The cage is not so much for drag racing (cuz I know I won't be doing 9.99 or better), but more for the road course. Although it certainly doesn't hurt to be safe. My family will appreciate it. It does add a little extra weight, but these '65 Mustang coupes are so light anyway, it might actually help to hook up. No door bars yet, as I don't have full race seats. If I keep the seats I have, I'll have to bring the bars out into the door. Not ready to hack the car up completely just yet. Gotta think about that one. Maybe get a race seat and a bolt in door bar, hey, that's it. See, just writing this gave me a good idea.
The engines running, and I have been terrorizing the neghborhood trying to work out as many kinks as I can before taking it to the track.
No real WOT testing yet, accept a couple of black marks in a few places in my subdivision.
