Great question!
My 70 convertible seats needed new foam also. In speaking with Bill Shenck the original designer of the 70, he thought the foam would interchange with the Mustangs.

I live in Northern OH and a national supplier of Mustang parts is located about 45mins. north of me. I made an appointment with the owner on a slow day and drove my old seats over to see.

He was kind enought to rip open box after box of new Mustang foam to try and match up a set. The 71s came closest in shape but the front to back demensions are far short of the Torinos. We tried them all side by side he really wanted to help, but in the end, no the Mustang and the Torino do not interchange. Sorry.
