Since the 9" is a good price and you don't have to worry about C clips and other parts, go 9". Gear changes are easy and parts are better. Most people that run an 8.8 only because that's what was already in there. Nothing wrong with that either. Weight, just think it's more weight on the rear tires where you want it. And we're not talking some 300#s either.
