7.3 deisel weighs 920 lbs 200 lb more than a 385 series block. I am sure that with 720 race coils you would be fine. Who cares about weight when you have 800 + lb ft of torque!!!! I say go for it. With any modification you have fabrication. That is what hot rodding is about
