Now you got me to thinking.....
X2!!

I too didn't think about it when installing my new to me 205's and the 1011-2's JUST YESTERDAY. My Bad!!!

I just measured the fire rings on an old set of 1011-2's and they are .100 wide so they should still be pinched by the heads/block. Unfortunately the metal itself is very thin and it may not survive??

I also laid the 1011-2 on my spare block and it aligns with the block very well around the cylinders. Brandon, how does yours fit your block? If it is good, then it is an AFR issue. Funny that AFR would recommend the wrong size head gaskets since both the 1011-1 and the 1011-2 have 4.100 fire rings.

My AFR's are an early set, the one with the "worm hole" water passage.

After a Summit search, I find that there is not a great selection of gaskets that have 4.175 or larger bores--at least not on a poor boy's salary.

What to do, what to do. . . . . .

Big Joe--we really need your thoughts and a recommendation!
