Re: AFR 205 head problems

I don't think the new gaskets are going to help either because they said my 1011-2's were fine not damaged at all. I asked them to write drivers side and passenger side on both the heads and head gaskets so I'll see what they look like when they get here next week.

Just to clarify the problems I am having :

1. My fire ring is hanging over into the combustion chamber .037 on one of my heads every cylinder the same amount in the same place (There is no way this is going to seal compression)
2. When I tried to install my shaft rocker arms, the rocker arm stud spacing was off on cylinders 1 & 8 not allowing me to bolt down the pedistals. I called AFR, they said this was not possible and that if I shipped the heads to them and nothing was wrong I would not only have to pay for shipping but also pay a 75.00 charge for them to look at them. After they measured the heads they verified the spacing was wrong, then suggested that I grind the bolts on my new shaft rocker arms to get them to fit cylinders 1 & 8. I told them there was no way I was going to grind my new rockers to cover up their poor machining. I told them to ship me a different set of heads, they said all their 205 heads were off that it would be 3 or 4 months before they got the problem fixed. They did give me a set of titanium retainers to make up for the heads being machined wrong though.
