So, are you saying don't buy a kit?

I'll be doing a I6 to V8 conversion on a '65 in the next few weeks. I was planning to take it to the muffler shop to have the system fabbed up. Reading this thread got me started thinking about buying a kit. I can do fab work. I have a MIG, Saw, Hyd. Press, and tons of patience. But, I don't want to spend my time fixing some POS kit when I could be doing something else.

So far I haven't read too many replies that have me convinced the muffler shop isn't the better alternative.

How much did you pay at the muffler shop? That might get me off the fence.
