347 Stroker Pistons and Block

Hi all. From my earlier posts you may have worked out that there may be a problem with an engine I've brought..... It was sold to me as a 347 Stoker but the CR was too hi. He agreed to put new pistons in to lower the CR, I talked to the parts house he is getting the pistons from. They don't have, don't supply stroker pistons! I've also seen one of the hi comp pistons from the motor, looks like a standard piston, dosen't have the pin real close to the oil ring like a stroker piston. Can a stroker use a standard piston?

Secondly, I thought the block had to be releaved for the extra stroke length as it spins?

Thoughts please......

Dave
