Yeah, that's reasonable. I generally avoid sealers as they hinder progress on the next teardown. On my trannies, I block all the gasket surfaces, using flat stones on the case (servo and case bottom/end) and an 18x18x3/4" granite slab (floor tile on $3 clearance) with sandpaper taped to it for the tailhousing. A few small figure-8's on that puppy and any distortions are immediately apparent and corrected. I figure it takes just a bit longer (if any longer) than wiping on sealer, but saves me time in the long run, not having to clean it up again the next time in and no leaks to fix in the meantime. I guess I'm a bit anal about blueprinting - deburring every edge, removing casting flash, chasing all the threads, truing surfaces, stuff like that. Old habits die hard... but I like my old habits.
