Hi all, this is my first post i have been a FM subscriber for 2yrs now or so and have not had to many questions as of yet, my father is a ford nut with a 1966 mustang gt convertible and a 1962 falcon sedan delivery, I inherited the Ford love

I have a 1969 ford falcon with a mexican blocked 302 someone swapped into it, it has from what i can tell a removable bellhousing c-4 but the kick down linkage is a little strange looking compared to the pictures i have found in the c-4 sticky's. maybe its a c3 or a c5? my time aloted before it got dark prevented me from pulling any numbers or anything.
I was playing around and came accross the fact my gas pedal would not go to the floor and would not open the 4barrel but half way, so i started researching it and came accross my kick down linkage(metal bar going down the fire wall, to a small 6" wire connected to the tranny) so i poped that off and had the wife push the throttle(it went all the way open like it should) so i tried to move the kick down linkage and its stuck like it was welded in spot.
i guess my question is....is there supposed to be line pressure before that thing moves?(every tranny i can think of doesnt need it) and if no then what could be the problem?
any help would be greatly appreciated
