68' Torino are listed as having a shipping weight of 2932 lb - 3514 lb depending on the options. On the low side is a 200ci model. On the high side are the Big Blocks with lots of options, PS, PB, AC etc.

I believe that a 302 could get high 13's with enough work, but remember that the most powerful engine found in these cars was the Ram Aired 428 Cobra Jet motor that could only get it into the low 14's, and that was with good gears (3:90's) and an automatic. That motor was conservatively rated at 335hp. Of course by utilizing modern suspension tricks that car would would now be much faster and run 12's.

As already advised, it would be better to spend you money on the 460 which will give you a kick ass ride, plus the 9" rear that you will need to keep it on the road.

If you want to go faster, cheap, slam a 351w in it for now. It will be a bolt in.
