Re: Your first car
This question has been asked so many times, it's become redundant. My first (legal) car was a solid '55 Ford Fordor, 272/Ford-o-matic I bought for $125 in the summer of 1967. I added a 4 bbl intake with a teapot Holley, a cam of some sort that I bought for $5.00 from a friend, homebuilt duals with glasspacks, yanked the front bumper Gasser Style, installed a 4:11 gear from a '55 stick shift wagon, started pulling the trim and filling the holes . I had just begun to build a legit rod out of her when a drunk plowed into her ass end and destroyed her. At the time, I was inconsolable, but with the passing 41 years and well over 200 cars since, that '55 was just another ride. But I'd like another one someday.
