That's a dubious statement, today's wages have not kept pace with inflation. So it doesn't matter if a given product is still "in line" adjusted for inflation. It's a dirty trick pulled by the Upper class. If you make a higher income then products are inflation adjusted "affordable", but if you make a working class income your buying power has actually been reduced over the last 25 years - because your wages have not kept up with inflation.
They are in effect creating two Americas.
