I assume by mustang dyno you mean a chassis dyno? Worlds of difference. Desktop dyno is usually off by 10-15% but it can be a lot more, on a rare occasion it can get real close. Like any other simulation put crap in get crap out, it can't simulate and account for every variable though. It isn't terrible for playing around with different combinations like cams but you shouldn't build an engine based off of the results. I admit though it's fun to play around with.

As far as I know a mustang dyno is a chassis dyno and measures wheel hp, and due to parasitic drive train loss will be lower than a engine dyno as far as measured hp. How much hp is lost is determined by how efficient your drivetrain is but figure 10-15% loss from flywheel. There can also be a lot of variation in chassis dyno numbers.


Edit: I see they have an Mustang has an engine dyno nm.
