Re: What's keeping me from working on my GAL
I hear ya Sleeper.... Thats why I kept the hoist attached to the car. I had to remove one leg of the hoist to get the engine cradle out from under it. The jackstands on the blocks (NOT one of my better ideas...but what I had on hand) were mainly to assist in keeping things stable during the 5 minutes I got the cradle out from under it; then the leg went back on. The stands werent going to be high enough by themselves, and to move them forward only provided a pivot point on the car. The hoist was there as the main support in case something decided to shift or in a worst case scenario ...crumble.
I knew I would be safe because I didnt say "Hey Y'all.... watch this!!!" before pulling the cradle... But hey... the car's plastic... It'd be like getting a big Revell model dropped on your head. By the way... if you ever hear some Southern Boy say 'Hey Y'all... watch this!" you might want to look because it will usually be hilarious just before you call the ambulance.
