Re: Question for mavman and others

I run a Holley 950HP it came jetted 79 square with 6.5 PV front and back. I blocked the back and went to 87 jets.
I ran it like this for 2 years on my old 351W combo that ran 7.40's/7.50's and the car was deadly consistant. If it ran 7.52 on the last time run it would run no faster than a high 7.50 after 6 rounds, never ran out in 2 years
With my new combo it has run out to weeks in a row.
This past week it went a 6.983 last time run 6.982 first round and then a 6.937 second round. I can't believe that a carb that was borderline lean on the old motor is rich on the new motor.
Thinking about going down 2 jet sizes front and back to 77/85 what does everyone think.
