carb oxidyzes after soaking in carb cleaner

I soaked a 2V Ford carb in CRC TYME-1 which is a carb and parts cleaner that comes in a 5 gallon bucket. I first looked at the carb after about 20 hours and it looked good. I did not have the rebuild kit and wanted to make sure the carb was extra clean so I left the carb in and removed it today after 2 days of soaking. Now the carb looks burnt and has white oxydation on it and in it. I called the CRC tech hotline and left my number and still have not heard back. Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do with the carb nowto reclean it?
