Sure, I understand its their car but at least take a little better car of it. At least then there will be something left to restore. In my area around Ithaca NY, there is a 68 LTD, a couple 64 Galaxies, and a 67 Galaxie sitting in the weeds rotting away. And those are just the ones I can think of right now. I do need to see if the LTD has the hideaway headlight motor.
