Re: Every Wealthy Guy Needs One Of These In His Stable

I would like to hear some of the people from the thread "Ever get bored of a car?" chime in on this thread.

People are complaining that the new GT500 doesn't have a refined ride, crappy handling, and all of the sophistication of a sledghammer.... And I believe that's exactly what the people that love "muscle cars" want and crave every day. I would say 80% of the people on here don't really like new cars when compared to the classics, so why is everyone trashing the GT500 for having "primitive handling"?

Personally, if I owned a GT500, I would not care if it can't hang with Porsches and BMW's through corners. I would only care about going in a straight line and looking like a badass while doing it. When it's time to turn who cares if the rear end hits a bump and kicks out a couple of inches? From what everyone in the other thread mentioned above thinks, that little bit of drama would be a welcome "kick in the ass" in an otherwise mundane commute.

And plus, who out there that is looking to buy a car such as the GT500 really cares about all of that? I mean, really? I believe that there is no other car in it's class. Corvettes and Vipers are sports cars and therefore don't count. Sure when the new Challenger hits the streets along with the new Camaro there will be a little bit of competition. The newest Motor Trend's cover article compared a new Challenger SRT8 to a GT500. The GT500 smoked the Challenger in every performance aspect. Yet somehow the Challenger placed first due to its more "refined ride." Pffft.... I would rather have a new GT500 over any other car in the world right now....

....Except the Super Snake of course.... ;-)
