Re: Anyone watch PINKS?

I watch pinks quite a bit.

There is a LOT more wrong with the way they do things than most people think about. Here's one...how about giving a guy a head start. Well the guy that gets the head start almost always loses. Why? Because the guy who gets the head start is at a disadvantage...he won't have NEAR the top end speed as their opponent. So if normally you're going 110 mph at the 1/4 mile and you get a 2 length head start, your MPH will be down to about 90-95 because you won't have the full 1/4 mile to race on. So if the slower car normally traps 110 and gets a head start, and the other guy normally traps 105 (the theoretically slower car), the theoretically slower car is at an advantage. That's why a full timing system should be implemented. But when they do that, it takes away from the traditional "flag man" street racing deal, and that is what pinks is all about. Then you have a bracket race and we all know that bracket races are just about boring to watch. Fun to actually participate in, but boring to watch.
