Re: Steering wheel horn ring spring

OK, I think I have the problem solved, but I need some help still. I need to know if the tension spring inside pushes against the plastic retaining ring with the 3 prongs, or is it more in the center and pushing the metal plate in the horn ring. I think this spring is wrong, and is pushing the metal plate away from the constant contact which is at the top. What I really need is 65/66 guys with completely working horns (pushed in the center, sides, AND when pushed down on the bottom curved bar on the horn ring) to look at thier spings and tell me just what is it supposed to be pushing against. My thinking is that if the spring is pushing against that metal plate it is pushing it away from the constant contact point at the top so it only works if pushed in the center. NOW, if I put pressure on the horn button at the top, and I push down on the bottom to honk the horn, it contacts the brushes at the bottom and honks. So it is making sense to me that the spring is pushing against the wrong thing, breaking the constant contact causing unsure connection when honking the horn. I just hope my explanation isnt confusing.
