Re: Ford Brings Back The CobraJet
Ya know, I gotta say that I think it's great that Ford is bringing back the Cobra Jet. Ya, I know that I likely can't afford one, and that I wish I could, but it is nice to see the "Blue Oval" kicking a$$ again. I love to see the "Fusions" tearing up NASCAR, and the FR500's creating their own circut. A factory 10 sec cobra jet, well I can't wait to see one! Who knows where it will lead. As well for those who wish for a stripped down street race car, well let's just say that with today's Attorneys, the 60's aren't comming back. If this car can be taken to the strip and meet NHRA's standards, then bring it on. In the 60's there were no such rules. As for now, well let's just say that Chevy and Dodge are wishing they were Ford right now and had a mustang of their own. I was at Lowes for the Food Lion Auto Fair, and some guy was selling his brand new 6 mile, Challenger SRT8 for less than he paid for it. I don't think I've seen a GT500 have that problem. Lastly, I saw in person a "Super Snake". Carrol Shelby was there and the owner met him. He told Carrol that he did not bring anything for an autograph, so Carrol asked him where he could be found. The guy said that he had his "Super Snake" on display and Carrol asked where it was. A few hours later, Carrol shows up at his car, (security guards in tow) and signs the dash!!! What is the "Super Snake" worth now???????
Last point, I heard a rumour that the Wall Street investors that own Chrysler, are getting tired of losing money and speculation is that Chrylser may be for sale again by spring!! Special project cars are currently being cut back and the overall product line rationalized. Bye Bye Dodge.....
