i have a 67 galaxie with a 289/2v with a fx trans. BroaderPerformance out of tx offers 2 rebuilt the fx for cruisers. 2 handle more power i was told by them that they can build a fmx trans with the tail housing from your fx that will bolt up w/out having to change transmounts or drive shafts. i checked because i plan on swaping a built 351w(425hp) in place of the the 289. hope this info helps
