'56 F-100 side hood emblems, how to flatten?

I just found a set of original emblems for my '56 F-100. they r in great shape, but one of them is bent a little. in other words the hood is curved slightly, and the emblem bends the other way. I would like to make it form to the hood with out f#%!ing it up. I do beleive it is that old style of pot metal that could break easly. I have the old set, but don't want to break them trying to experament. any ideas for me? thanx

Slick, since it's not useable in it's current condition you have nothing to lose by trying to straighten it. I would lay it upside down and support the ends on 2x4's. Apply slow pressure to the middle with a press or drill press. Go slowly and check your progess.

Thanks, I took one of the old ones and bent it over my leg slowly and it worked fine. It didn't have far to go any how.

Thanks

Yeah, that's what I meant to say. Legg, not press. That's the ticket.
