Is there a need to always bore?
If all of your bores are 4.010", then I would suggest a .020" or .030" overbore. This will make sure you will have 8 cylinders that are perfectly round, no taper, and the correct piston-bore clearance. Considering that most forged pistons measure 3.998 (standard bore), then your piston-bore clearance would be .012". That's quite a bit. On a street motor, the rings would wear prematurely and it would be a bit noisy when its cold.
