little fuzzy on the damper thing. and alum flywheel

i am building a 302 stroked to a 355
vic jr. heads 10.5 to 1 590 lift cam with 290 duration hyd roller.
srp's and eagle forged crank and h beams.
i am going to be building the bottom end soon and need a balancer and flywheel.
i am not sure what i need to run though.
50 oz? 28 oz?
has anybody had any good luck with alum flywheels?
i have a 89' block

If you have the rotating assembly ballanced, you can choose 28 or 50oz. With your application I would have it balanced at 28oz.

Otherwise go with 50oz, that is what the 89 used stock.

You might find that the larger versions of the strokers are easier/cheaper to balance using the 50 oz versus the 28.
I realize you are talking 302/355, but on the 351s, 393Ws are easily balanced using the 28 and with reasonable weight pistons only require a bit of lightening of the counterweights. On the other hand 427Ws require 50 oz stuff plus a couple of chunks of heavy metal.
Look up Dave Williams' site and read how much trouble he had balancing the bigger stroked 302s. You might even e-mail Dave with this question. I defer to him. http://angelfire.com/ar/dw42/index.htm
