What is the best nitrous system out there?

Might be tough to say I just want some opinions/experences, did they make the claimed power, was it easy to get it running right, etc. I am thinking about getting a carb plate system in the 50-150hp range for my 65 Mustang. Right now I like the Nitrous Express kits and the Nitrous Works kits. Thanks in advance.

The best plate system I found out there is the Wilson Manifolds system. One very common problem with the small block Fords is runner lenght, with the number one being the longest runner always wanting to go lean. The WM plate system comes with SS spray bars that will not corode, and 88 spray holes angled directly into the runners. They also have built in burst panels in the event of a mishap. They can easily be replaced. Let me know if you are interested in their system. I can usually get pretty good pricing. Check it out at www.wilsonmanifolds.com

Did some tuning on a friends NX Gemini... I'm thinking about selling all my NOS stuff for some of theirs!

The entry level 'NOS' brand stuff (powershot, super powershot, cheater) is junk. Their upper level stuff is good, but the above kits are old tech, the solonoids are marginal, and are their 'moneymakers'.

As for good, moderate priced kits are concerned, I like the Edelbrock RPM. The Nitous Express kits seem to be doing well too.

The only 'NOS' brand item on my car is the purge solonoid... and it won't work if the bottle pressure gets very high. I used to have some 'NOS' brand fuel pressure safety switches, but they kept malfunctioning, so they were removed.

My kit is made by TOP GUN. This is the company the guy from Nitrous Express used to be with before splitting away and starting NX. Mine is a stage 5 plate. NX sells pretty much the same thing... I believe it's called the stage 6. It only has eight nitrous and eight fuel holes in the spraybars, but the are angled right into the ports, and the nitrous sprays right through the fuel to help vaporize it. I was a dealer for Top Gun at one time, and was invited to be one for NX when they were first starting up, but never did pursue it...

Good Luck!

I have also heard that using a dual plane manifold wont work too well any truth to this? What about the Air-Gap? It is notched a little, which i think would help.

Dual plane is not a good choice. A vacuum secondary will work without a problem. I really liked the Top Gun stuff, the solonoids are nice & make a Big Shot NOS ROCK! NX seems to be the systems of choice around here now. I too have seen some NOS parts failures recently but my purge has always worked, even when the line pressure pegs the guage
