Master Power Brakes Vs Stainless Steel Brakes

I have a 64 Galaxie with Drum brakes. I am interested in getting disc brakes. Any one have any insight on MPB vs SSB? Which one is better? Do both kits use brake pads that are readily available or are they propreitary brake pads that need to be ordered from them specifically?

Thanks.

Instead of the large cash out-lay of switching to discs, you may want to consider up-graded drums. Station wagons(not all, but some) came with 3" drums in the front and 3"
with finned drums in the rear. These will not cost a mint., but will help improve braking. I have 3" wide shoes on the front of my 65 Ranch Wagon. I have owned a 69 and a 70 wagon that had finned drums on the rear.
If you find a set in a J-yard, get the entire brake assy. with backing plate. Either get the drums turned or replace them with new. There is also a Company that makes shoes from improved materials. You should also try to up-grade the master cylinder to a 2 compartment model.
