C4 Parts needed

I know it has been discussed before but where do I buy some thin .061 waffle or gooved frictions and .061 steels? The smooth faced .061 frictions are easy to find but not the grooved ones.Someone makes them but where do you buy them?

Here is a link to Alto's page
http://altousa.com/np7.gif
that they show their c4 6 clutch high reverse pack on I don't know the cost or who sells them, I wonder if this is the kit that Performance Automatic lists on their site if so it is quite high priced I think like $169.00
I have had stock steels surface ground to .060"-.065" at a local machine shop for a resonable cost and then used the stock .061 clutches with good luck and I am about to test some stock .061 clucthes that I had a groove pattern cut into with a laser engraving table so these may work as well, also I have seen where several places are now advertising the turbulator steels which are supposed to help with reducing the friction in the pack and may help engage to, if not using grooved clutches not sure on this though. good luck with your search. let us all know if you find any deals

Thanks,Tim.
That Alto 6 pack deal hasn't been released for sale yet. I checked on it last week from my local trans shop who called Alto who said "not yet".I have seen those thin .061 steels and frictions somewhere but can't remember where. That's what happens at my age.

well Jim,
maybe you should look into having some machined as I have done I can tell you that they worked fine in a trans I did for a friend and he runs low 11's and is using a transbrake besides so he is very hard on it and this is with stock replacement clutches from Borg Warner or others like Raybestos so if they will take that I think they will take alot plus on his I only put 5 clutches in it at that time so one more would be even better. I think the turbulator steels sound like a very good idea and am looking into trying that trick also with stock parts, wish me luck I will let you all know how it goes when I get some time to get out and test with it behind my 523 BBF.
Also maybe Performance Automatics has them now as they are listing a Alto kit on their site see link http://www.usaplaza.com/scripts/wcom...roductID=32844
it is priced high though $169.99

Tim: Thanks for the info. If I can't find the thin steels I'll look into having some .078's turned down. The Performance Automatic 6 friction kit looks just like the Alto kit and I think they are the same. $169 is way too high for that.My Falcon C4 has over 1500 1/4 mile passes and unknown street miles and the total cost of the trans from the bone yard,a stock type rebuild kit plus a TransGo shift kit was less than $169 so I don't think I'll be getting the Performance Auto/Alto kit.

Larry: Yeah, Mark at Bulkparts is good to deal with. Last I checked he didn't have the .061 parts but maybe he does now.I went thru my Morris trans with one of Mark's kits with Alto Red clutches and it is working fine.
