maf conversion HELP!

Hi I am wanting to convert my 66 mustang to maf but have a few questions. I have a stock 87 model motor in it right now with no modifications. My question is can I use the computer out of a 95 5.0 mustang I am not sure if I can because it is a stick car and mine has an aod trans. Second question will it be compatable with my 87 wiring harness other than the few wires you have to rearange for the conversion I have been told the 89-93 computer is different from the 94-95 computer. Thanks for helping.

i would not recommend the 95 computer. I would get a 8-93 mass air computer - manual or auto wont make a difference.

Also for simplicity, just get the speed density to mass air conversion kit from Ford. Otherwise i believe you need a mass air harness.

The 94/95 processor will not work with the early harness, it controlled an electric cooling fan a some other stuff, you will need to find a 89-93 AUTO processor like a A9P. you can get the mass air pig tail and instructions for about 30-40$

As the others have stated, you'll need the '89-'93 processor to make it work. Unless you are modifing the engine, I'd leave it SD. A STOCK speed densety 5.0 is faster than the same engine with Mass Air.

Did the conversion on a '86 Stang I had. Lost .25 at the strip (thought didn't feel as good on the street). Converted it back at the track, regained the lost time. Stuck the MA computer on the shelf, I'ts now in my Bird.
