Why aren't transmission coolers used for manual transmission? Don't they endure the same friction and heat as an automatic? [img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif[/img]
Some manuals use coolers but it is a pretty serious go-fast support part. I suspect part of the reason besides cost is that auto trans already have a pump. Guess that's why you also sometimes see powersteering coolers (Mustang Cobras & SCJ ?) where they only have to worry about some pipe routing and a bit of head radiation.
If you check out the high-end Porsche 944 Turbo from '88 (the "S"[img]/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img] or '89 (all) they have a manual transmission cooler. I believe I've read that the newer BMW M5's also have a manual transmission cooler.
I seen a guy in a mud truck run a custom one, used the drain and fill plug on his NP435, a lil pump, reservoir, and filter. Neat setup, but overkill for most vehicles.
