Help w/ Windsor Jr. heads!

Alright, I finally got my new 302 in the mustang. All was going well when it came time to put in the spark plugs. Then when #5 came up I couldn't get it threaded because
my header tube was where I counldn't get the correct angle to thread the plug. Any sugg. I have the Shelby Tri- y hearders. Thanks.

pull the headers, and put that plug in first.

Help w/ Windsor Jr. heads!

I had to use Accel shorty header spark plugs to get my plug wires on my windsor jr heads with headers in my 67'.

you also might concider getting a set of jacobs spark plug wires that have the ceramic boots. they come in both straight or right angle boots. you will need to tell them what you want. you will never have to replace the wires because the headers burned them again. also they are garenteed for life for any reason.

Tri y's arent gonna cut it with the Jr's heads. Youll have to modify the tubes and even the flange just to get the plus in. Shorty plugs may work but its not the fix. Hooker super comps will fit the World heads and you should get the jacobs ceramic strait boot wires. Its not worth the time if you have to keep replacing plug wires because you have the wrong header.

I dont think hooker changed the header design yet for the comps. I used a set of cheapeis when i first got my heads but I modifeid the tubes with a large socket and hammer while it was on the stand. The flange had to grond down a little to clear the spark plug socket. It probably killed alot of flow to that side of the engine but thats all I could do at that time. I got the super comps as soon as they as they came out.

Project 11.99 runs windsor jr alum heads, and Super Comps. The plug on cylinder #2 is the pain in the ass. With a regular plug you cant get a 5/8" socket or spark plug socket over the end cus it hits the header tube. So I am using Accel shorties. They seem to work, but the problem is that the hex portion is so far down that it is recessed into the plug hole in the head, so your socket barely engages the hex. Its tough to tighten them up, but it can be done with patience.

I would not jump to get new headers if just one plug is a problem. Get the shorty (I think its Accel 28S or 26S? ) and try that first, its a $1.25 fix versus a $200 headers and anotehr 100+ for exhasut reworking.

There is nothing wrong with using shorties by the way..if they work, then it IS the fix! Better than spending excess on headers.
